Title: The Grace Of Summer Light
He decided to record the music he wanted to write and play with no regard for format or genre limitations. The result is a stunning departure...he's dropped a few hints before, like in "The Challenge" on his last CD but this one, with Jay Rowe, Joel Rosenblatt, Tom Kennedy, and Kevin Prince, is the kind of alternative that most of us were seeking when we got into this music pre-smooth. Can't explain this music because it doesnt fit a genre. And streaming it is a gutsy and fabulous idea because you can't explain it and the way to reach potential fans and convert potential naysayers is simply to let people hear it. Because they will buy it..the speakers on a computer aren't going to do it justice and it's one of those pieces of music that take you away from your real world for a while. Something we all need these days.

Clear Channel Digs Tony Adamo
Press Release by UrbanZone Productions
Franki LaMantia, San Francisco, CA

Singer/songwriter, Tony Adamo’s song, “No Strings” from his STRAIGHT UP DEAL release on UrbanZone Records has recently been added to clearchannelmusic.com music site. Clear Channel Communications is the largest owner of full power AM/FM radio stations in the United States. Clear Channel has made “No Strings,” (produced by Jerry Stucker) available to its radio programmers across the U.S. Adamo’s funky groove music is getting outstanding radio airplay and reviews from all over the world.

Stuart Hamilton of Amazon.co.uk wrote, “The first thing that leaps out at you is Adamo’s voice. Imagine if you can, it’s like Rou Rawls fronting Tower of Power.” With this being said, the unique funky sound on “No Strings” was locked in by Mic Gillette, a Tower of Power band member for more than nineteen years. Mic’s stellar horn arrangement (utilizing the horn section of past and present members of TOP including Stephen ‘Doc’ Kupka and Skip Mesquite), is pure smooth groove that sets up the dynamic blending between Adamo’s voice and the rhythm section. Edward Blanco of Ejazznews.com wrote “STRAIGHT UP DEAL reveals the vocal talents of a superior singer.” Sandy Shore of Smoothjazz.com gave STRAIGHT UP DEAL a rating of 5 Stars and said, “Think of Adamo as Lou Reed but - funkified.”

SOULTRACKS reviews Soul Man Tony Adamo
http://www.myspace.com/tonyrocadamo

Sitting in the jazz café along with a few friends, sipping Chamomile tea, singer/visual artist Tony Adamo enters the stage offering us a sweet deal. He is offering his latest
14-track fusion CD, Straight Up Deal. What is his recipe? Add a taste of Michael Beck, sample some Santana, throw in the sentiment of Miles Davis, the style of Grover Washington, Jr. and the Lou Rawls-like vibrato of Tony Adamo. There you have it: an eclectic, high energy project of jazz, R&B, soul and funk.

He allowed us a taste of his dish with an introduction of a few of his powerful featured guest artists, such as Doc Kupka (Tower Of Power) and Ernie Watts on sax, Eddie Henderson on trumpet and Paul Jackson on bass guitar. The appetizer, "No Strings," displayed his funky, jazz side. The main course was assorted with several classic remakes: "Winelight" (instrumental piece made famous by Grover Washington); Miles Davis' "Milestones" and Joe Zawinul's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy." With such a passionate band and Tony's funky, R&B voice we were begging for more. He quenched our thirst with "Midnite Café."

As he closed, he offered us another deal - dessert- with complimentary copies of his latest project. As a singer, but also, a visual artist, he took personal interest in the creativity of his CD packaging. It was stylishly designed, with a nice headshot on the cover and the Northern California Bay Area city nightlife as the backdrop on the back. Tony Adamo, and his band reflects that real musicians are here to stay, still offering talent and stellar performances.

This CD is a Straight Up Deal. Recommended.

http://www.myspace.com/tonyrocadamo
Bay area vocalist Tony Adamo garnished a five star rating from Smoothjazz.com for his latest release, "Straight Up Deal." However, there's a lot more to the smooth jazz sound found on this recording than what they would have you believe. Tony Adamo, equipped with a deep baritone voice, belts out some real gyrating funk, R&B;and soulful jazz tunes on this fourteen piece CD, which also includes a selection of straight ahead beautiful contemporary jazz vocals.

Adamo records the album with nineteen players among them, funk bassist Paul Jackson, saxophone great Ernie Watts and trumpeter Eddie Henderson. He also enlists the help of The Tower of Power Horns which appear on five tracks.

As I previously alluded to, the music is quite varied with three of the first four tracks firmly grounded in the funk genre ("No Strings," "Passport," and "Up In It"). Ernie Watts showcases his sax on the R&B;-shaded "In The Winelight," while Adamo gets jazzy on the first straight jazz number in "Milestones," with the trumpet voice of Eddie Henderson setting the pace.

Tunes like "Autumn Leaves," "Wouldn't You," "Stolen Moments," and "Speak Low" fall in the smooth jazz side of the music where Adamo shines singing beautiful lyrics from some great standards. One of my favorite numbers is the spunky and lively "Lolita" featuring the Tower of Power Horns.

"Straight Up Deal" reveals the vocal talents of a superior singer who is able to convey the essence of different musical styles with ease and grace. An album that will obviously appeal to a broad audience considering the varied selection of music on this disc. I enjoyed the album; it was truly a "Straight Up Deal" from Tony Adamo.
Temecula Wine and Music Festival Announces Stellar Lineup May 3-4-2008
Festival Will Benefit Military Families in Need

Come and enjoy world class music and a unique wine tasting experience from Temecula's award-winning wineries at the Temecula Wine and Music Festival from May 3-4, 2008 at the Vail Lake Resort in Temecula, California. The festival will benefit "All from The Heart," a Temecula based non-profit charity helping out our military families in need of assistance.

In keeping with the tradition of providing the best in musical entertainment, the lineup includes: The Average White Band, Michael Paulo with special guest appearance by James Ingram, Grammy-Award-Winner Jody Watley, Marc Antoine, Chieli Minucci, Paul Brown, Brian Simpson, Kiki Ebsen, Phillippe Saisse and Antonio Pontarelli.

The beautiful Vail Lake Resort is located just nine miles from Interstate 15 on Highway 79 in Temecula and provides the festival with more space than in previous years. Along with the stellar lineup, the festival has added wine tasting from local wineries and more local food and merchandise vendors to the mix. Live and silent auctions will be held May 3-4 with 100% of the auction proceeds going directly to All from the Heart.

Each year, Apaulo Music Productions hosts the Temecula Wine and Music Festival with a portion of ticket sales to benefit a charity. The festival's producer, Michael Paulo, encourages everyone to come out and support the event. "In the past three years of the event, we raised close to a $100,000 for The Shriner's Hospital for Children. There's no better feeling than that of helping others," said Paulo. "This year, we are proud to be supporting a local non-profit charity in Temecula called All from the Heart. Their mission is to help our military families in need. Recently, All from The Heart raised funds to help an IRAQ war veteran cope with his losing an arm and a leg. By purchasing a retrofitted vehicle for him and donating money to his family, All from the Heart helped him re-adjustment to civilian life. Through music we can heal suffering and despair. Please support our event. I am sure you will have a great time for a great cause," he said.

SCOTTY HARD BENEFIT SHOW
@ HIGHLINE BALLROOM NEW YORK CITY
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19 , 2008
FEATURING: JOHN MEDESKI / BILLY MARTIN / DJ LOGIC / JOHN SCOFIELD / SEX MOB / ANTIBALAS +

Downtown NYC luminaries unite for one astonishing benefit concert at the Highline Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday, March 19 , 2008 , coming to the aid of beloved record producer Scott Harding and the Scotty Hard Trust.

At 3am on Friday, February 15, music producer Scott Harding was a victim of a car crash in which he was a passenger of a car service, returning home from a late night mixing session. The cab he was riding in was broadsided by a stolen car; the impact crushed Harding’s T5 vertebrae, leaving him partially paralyzed. Scott Harding’s condition is serious and like many dedicated musicians he is without health insurance and is facing very large medical and legal fees.

The short term need to raise cash in order to handle Scott Harding’s affairs is very real. His friends and the dedicated musical community that Scott has long been a part of quickly united, offering performances in the form of a benefit concert for The Scotty Hard Trust, a special account that has been set up by friends of Harding which helps to handle Scott’s short-term financial needs through private monetary donations.

A benefit show featuring DJ Logic, John Scofield, John Medeski, Billy Martin, Bill Laswell, Eric Krasno, Neal Evans, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, Antibalas, Sex Mob, John Ellis, Michael Blake, Vijay Iyer, Tommy Hamilton, Kevin Kendrick and more will be taking place at The Highline Ballroom, in NYC, on March 19th.

Vancouver native and longtime New Yorker Scotty Hard has a long and varied list of production credits, including New Kingdom, Positive Black Soul, Charlie Hunter, Barney Bentall & the Legendary Hearts, Tricky, Crooklyn Dub, Dubadelic, Bailter Space, DJ Logic, Badar Ali Khan, Sex Mob, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Material, Soul Crib, Michael Blake, Chris Brown/Kate Fenner, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Metabolics, and Organ-ized. He also engineered and mixed pioneering music by Wu-Tang Clan, Gravediggaz, Jungle Brothers, Vernon Reid, Chris Rock, Ultrmagnetic MC's, Salif Keita, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, PM Dawn, De La Soul, Boogie Down Productions, Brand New Heavies, Prince Paul, Biz Markie, Chubb Rock, Teo Macero, and others.
